Single features and clusters of five artifacts or more within a 100 m area were defined as <br />;ices; four or fewer artifacts were considered isolated finds. Vo sites were found in the <br />Icsse area that caused any reason for alteration of this site definition. If a valid reason <br />such as the possibility of rapid alluviation had been discovered, a lower density :vould <br />have been accepted. <br />All sites and isolated finds wfare recorded on relevant State of Colorado inventory <br />forms. Field maps were drawn with the use of a Brunton Pocket transit, a 30 m tape (as <br />a baseline), and pacing. Features were mapped with a tape rather than paced. Sites <br />were documented by color and black and white photographs. Artifacts of diagnostic <br />value were drawn as well as photographed. <br />\J <br />J <br />6 <br />
