Copies, including location <br />maps and an amendment summary, were sent to the Board of Land Commissioners, Excel Energy, <br />and CDOT. Excel is not actually a landowner, but a notice was sent to them because you <br />mentioned them and because of the abundance of their power lines on the site. All the land <br />surrounding the site for miles around belongs to the State. The original permit maps show the land <br />on the north side of Quincy being owned by the U.S. Government -Department of Defense. I <br />could find no records of any such ownership in the Arapahoe County assessor records of current <br />ownership. That may have been the case 10 years ago, but it is now under State ownership. I suspect <br />that was part of the Lowry Bombing Range property that the State acquired, complete with <br />undetonated munitions (what a deal that was, eh?). <br />If you have any questions, please call. <br />Sincerely, <br />~~ <br />Mark A.
