Based on our pre-hearing conference held in Breckenridge on Friday, September 16,
1993, Alpine Rock requests the following additions be included in our permit application.
These additions are:
1. The Operator will avoid disturbing all hard rock mine tailings that may be located
within the permit boundary.
2. The Operator will avoid any disturbance of wetlands on the property. Wetlands will
be delineated and confirmed with the Corps of Engineers.
3. The Operator will do water quality monitoring on a three time per year basis at
locations upstream and downstream of the mining operation. The times selected
for monitoring will be in the spring, summer and fall. The parameters to be
monitored will be:
Total Phosphorous (mg/I)
Ortho Phosphorous (mg/I)
Total Suspended Solids (mg/I)
PH
Chlorides (mg/I)
These parameters will be monitored to gather baseline data for the operation. There are
no performance standards associated with this monitoring program. All information
gathered on water quality monitoring will be submitted to DMG with the annual report.
Gregg, the Operator has reviewed their time schedule and does not feel it would be
prudent to delay the hearing before the Board. Therefore, we request that our case be
heard on September 22, 1993 as scheduled.
