• Reclamation of sediment ponds 3, 4 and 5 shall be accomplished after
successful revegetation is assured. Sufficient yardage exists in the berms
of the ponds to provide the fill needed to reclaim the ponds. A bulldozer
shall be used to push the berms into the ponds and bring the local area back
to approximate original contours.
During final reclamation the Hubbard Creek Crossing will be removed.
The material backfilled around the culvert will be graded into the road cut
on the east sides of the Creek. Dozers and excavators shall be used to accomplish
this work.
Areas for reclamation were calculated as follows:
Bench stabilization 3.4 acres
Initial Reclamation - portal bench,
bench access road, lower stockpile,
scale locations at the mine site and
by the highway and Pond No. 1 13.0 acres
. Final Reclamation - Pond Nos. 3, 4 and
5, Pond No. 1 access road and the
Hubbard Creek Crossing 1.2 acres
Because the so 11 surveys conducted on the site indicate that the existing
disturbed soils are suitable plant growth media, and because the disturbed
area is less than 40 acres, the Blue Ribbon Mine will be reclaimed and revegetated
using existing materials with sufficient amendments to achieve adequate re-
establishment of vegetation to meet the requirements of the CMLRD and the land-
owner's postmining land use objectives (wildlife habitat). When the surfaces
are regraded to approximately their final contour, at lease one soil sample per
•
109 (Rev. 3/21/86)
