. (7) Coal Handling Structures
The truck scale facility was used to weigh the
Operator's coal haulage trucks. The State Highway Department ac-
quired the land, on which the scale facility was located, to
provide for the construction of an upgraded highway through the
area. For this reason the truck scale facility was eliminated
from the permit area by Technical Revision No. 3 which was ap-
proved by the Division on March 31, 1989. Exhibits A', F' and G'
were all deleted from the permit by this technical revision.
18) Coal Processing Waste and Non-Coal Waste
No coal processing waste or non-coal processing waste
structures were constructed on site except as noted below.
(9) Underground Development Waste
No processing of coal took place and therefore a mini-
mum of waste is developed. Rock removed from the mine was
trucked to the Red Canyon Mine refuse disposal area. That area
was permitted b,Y MSHA No. 1211-CO-9-0021 and CMLRD permit ap-
plication C-81-034.
The stabilization of the slope below the mine bench was
• done in 1985 in accordance with the Operators Technical Revision
request for Mine Bench Stabilization. In accordance with this
technical revision, underground development waste from ARCO's
Mount Gunnison Mine was used as a source of fill to stabilize the
slope below the mine bench.
(10) Return of Cosl Processing Waste to Abandoned Workings
The "E" seam is an extremely uniform and clean seam.
The coal did not require any special handling or processing,
therefore there was minimal waste material. However, some waste
rock was hauled and properly disposed of at the Red Canyon Mine
near Cedaredge, Colorado.
u
107i (Rev. 10-8-901
