' Mined Land Wildlife Statement <br />' For Limited Impact Operation Permit (110 * and 110d) or <br />Regular Operations Permit (112 and 112d) <br />' instructions to the Apylicant: Submit this Wildlife Statement [o OMLR as pan of the MLRD application. <br />Instructions [o DOW District Wildlife Manama: Review the attached Applicant's Questionnaire, complete this <br />form, and send both back to the Regional Office. <br />' Instructions to DOW Regional Staff: Send completed copies of both the Applicant's Questionnaire and Wildlife <br />Statement along with pertinent correspondence to the applicant, OMLR, and DWM. <br />t ----'---'-- <br />The following information pertaining [o wildlife is provided for use by the Mined ]and Reclamation Board in its <br />consideration of a mining permit for: <br />1. Name and type of mine: Whitewater Pit. Grand Junction Pipe and Supply <br />2. Location of mine: Portions of Sec. l4 & 23. T.2S. R1E. Ute PM <br />3. List threatened or endangered species (federal or state) and other species of special concem present: <br />The azea is within the flight corridor of the Gunnison River which provides winter habitat for bald eagles as well <br />as habitat for many other migratory avian species. The nearby Gunnison River is also critical habitat for 3 of 4 <br />endangered fish. <br />' Because of the nature of the site and its location outside the flood plain of the Gunnison River, no listed state or <br />federal threatened or endangered species or state species of special concern are expected to be impacted by this <br />mining operation. <br />1 <br />' 4. Assess expected impacts to fish and wildlife populations and habitat from project: <br />When reclaimed, the site should have greater wildlife species diversity than prior to mining. There will be <br />temporary and permanent habitat losses. These losses are not expected to be measurable. <br />Post-mining habitat will be a little more diverse. <br />1 <br />' (OVER) <br />1 <br /> <br />110 Limited Impact Operation Permits are not required to submit a wildlife statement, but it is preferred. <br /> <br />
