Name and type of mine: Whitewater Pit. Grand Junction Pipe and Supply 2. Location of mine: Portions of Sec. l4 & 23. T.2S. R1E. Ute PM 3. List threatened or endangered species (federal or state) and other species of special concem present: The azea is within the flight corridor of the Gunnison River which provides winter habitat for bald eagles as well as habitat for many other migratory avian species. The nearby Gunnison River is also critical habitat for 3 of 4 endangered fish. ' Because of the nature of the site and its location outside the flood plain of the Gunnison River, no listed state or federal threatened or endangered species or state species of special concern are expected to be impacted by this mining operation. 1 ' 4. Assess expected impacts to fish and wildlife populations and habitat from project: When reclaimed, the site should have greater wildlife species diversity than prior to mining. There will be temporary and permanent habitat losses. These losses are not expected to be measurable. Post-mining habitat will be a little more diverse. 1 ' (OVER) 1 110 Limited Impact Operation Permits are not required to submit a wildlife statement, but it is preferred.
