• -18-
MR. ENTZ: And that will be how it is reclaimed at that?
MR. RENNER: That lowest portion will be partially filled by the
buttress, but there will be portions equally low adjacent to the buttress area.
MR. ENTZ: Well, why not require some back filling?
MR. RENNER: We have discussed that option with the company. And I guess
the Company has demonstrated that the configuration that they have proposed
would be a beneficial and successful configuration at this point,
MR. JOUFLAS: Anything further, Steve?
MR. RENNER: I don't think so.
MR, JOUFLAS: Any further questions? Okay. We're going to change tapes
• now so we will hold up just one minute.
MS. WINTER: Steve, last time when we met, we discussed the possibility
of having monitoring for the second layer of drainage?
MR. RENNER: Yes.
MS. WINTER: And I think you were going to look into that. Has anything
come out of that?
MR. RENNER: Yes. We did look into that and essentially, we determined
that we have what we honestly feel to be a state of the art type facility at
this point and we do not feel that further leak detection systems would be
necessary. The reason is two-fold. We are very confident with the leak
detection and the secondary compacted clay liner system. And,
furthermore, given the permeabilities and depth to ground water at the pad
area, we do not feel that it would be necessary.
