-13-
• installation of the slurry wall, at the specifications of which will be
submitted as a technical revision again about two years after the installation
of the trench. Conversely, if the trench remains -- if we do not see expected
inflows or the inflows are significantly less than what is anticipated
currently, the necessity for the trench mdy not exist. At which point, a
technical revision could be submitted with substantive of hydrologic data --
or supporting hydrologic data to substantiate not creating or building the
trench or the slurry wall .
MR. BARRY: Just to clarify, because I'm a little behind on some of
this. The slurry wall and the trench and all this stuff on the 'West Pit, is
all in an area that's going to be mined, but their processing of cyanide will
not be present at that location.
MR. RENNER: No, not at all.
• MR. BARRY: I am correct?
MR. RENNER: You're exactly correct.
MR. BARRY: And you have identified that there are no toxic or acid
forming materials in the native rock material?
MR. RENNER: Yes, that's correct. As far as the typical design which was
submitted, the slurry wall would be keyed to the Santa Fe Conglomerate at the
point where it is well cemented. The wall will be about three feet wide, it
will be compacted so permeability of 10 to the minus 7 centimeter^s per second
is achieved. The actual depth of the wall will be variable dependant on
topography and lithologic characteristics of the Santa Fe.
The fourth outstanding issue that we discussed with the Company was the
amount of financial warranty necessary for this site. The Division has
calculated the financial warranty and we have came up with a figure. The way
that the Company would like to have the warranty and, actually, the whole
