<br />(lJ Plats, reports, maps. At such times .end In
<br />such form es the lessor may prescribe, to furnish;ei plat
<br />showing development work and improvements on'the
<br />leased lands end a report with respect to stxkholders,
<br />investment, depreciation, end costs. To furnish is such
<br />form as the lessor may prescribe, within 30 days: from
<br />the ezpiration o[ each quarter a [eport covering'such
<br />quarter, certified by the superintendent of the mine, or
<br />by such other agent having personal knowledge~o[ the
<br />facts as may be designated by the lessee fad such
<br />purpose, showing the amount of leased deposits mined
<br />during the quarter, the character end quality tkereo[,
<br />amount of its products and byproducts deposed ~ot sail
<br />price received therclw, and amount M storcge or held
<br />for sale. To keep and prepare maps o[ the leased lends
<br />in e<cwdanee with the appropriate regulations, ~~

<br />(b) /rmpectiom To permit at all reasonable times
<br />(1) inspection by any duly authorized officer ~o( the
<br />Department, of the leased premises and ell surfade and
<br />underground improvements, works, nmchtnery, equipment,
<br />and all books and rc<orda pertaining to operations end
<br />surveys w investigations under this (ease; cad (2) the
<br />lessor.to make copies of aril exUacts Gom any .w ell
<br />books and rotords pertaining to operations nailer this
<br />lease, if desUed. '
<br />(i] Assignment. To file for approve( in the' ap-
<br />propriate land offim within 90 days from the date of
<br />' execution, any assignment or traas(er made' o[ this
<br />lease, whether by direct sssigrmrenq operating agree-
<br />' went, wacking or royalty interest, or otherwise. Such
<br />inslrumeot will take effect the Eirst day of the month
<br />' following its approval by the Bweau of Lend tdenage-
<br />rrmnt, or if the assignee requests, the first day of the
<br />month of approval. The showing required to be made
<br />with an assignment or transfer Is set forth io the
<br />eppropriatc rcgulatians.
<br />~~ (j) Equal Opportunity clause. During the pet-
<br />(armance of this contreM the lessee agrees as follows:
<br />(1) The lessee will not discriminate against
<br />any employee or appliont Lor'empltyment because of
<br />~~ race, creed, color, or national origin. The lessee will
<br />take e(firmetive action to ensum that applicants are
<br />employed, and that employees arc treated dudng em-
<br />ployment, wilhonl regard to Ureir race, need, color,, or
<br />national origin. Such action shall include, tut not be
<br />limited to the following: employment, upgrading, do-
<br />motion, or transfer, rerauitmenl or recmitment adver-
<br />using; layoff or termination; rates of pay or other forms
<br />of compensation; and selection for Uaining, including
<br />apprenticeship. The lessee agrees to post in conspic-
<br />uous places, available to employees and applicants
<br />for employment, notices to be provided by the contracting
<br />' officer setting forth the provisions of this nondiscrim-
<br />ination clause.
<br />(2) The lessee will, io eli soliciteNons or
<br />advertisements (or employees placed by or ori`~behatf
<br />of the lessee, slate that all qualilied applicants will
<br />receive eonsidention for employment wiUout regard to
<br />race, creed, color, or national origin.

<br />(3) Th essee will nil to each labor union
<br />or represenlaliv. a[ workers with which he has acol-
<br />IeHive bargaining agreement or other contract or under-
<br />standing, a notice, to be provided by the agenty
<br />contracting officer, advising the laber union or workers'
<br />reprcsentetive of the lessee's commitments under
<br />Section 202 of Executive Order No. 11246 0( Sep-
<br />tembu 24, 1965, rail shall post copies of the notice
<br />In conspicuous plems available to employees end ep-
<br />plicants [or employment.
<br />(4) The lessee will comply with a)1 provisions
<br />of Executive Order No. 11246 of September 24, 1965,
<br />end o[ the rates, regulations, and relevant orders of
<br />the Sewetery of Labor.
<br />(5) The lessee will famish ell information
<br />and reports required by Executive Order No. 11246 0[
<br />September 24, 1965, and by the rules, regulations, and
<br />orders of the Secretary of Labor, or pursuant thereto,
<br />and will permit access to his books, records, and ac-
<br />counts by the contracting agency and the Settetary of
<br />Labor for purposes of investigation to ascertain compii-
<br />anee with such reles, regulations, and orders.
<br />(6) In the event of the lessee's noneomplianrx
<br />with fhe nondisuiminafian clauses o! this contract or
<br />with any of such rates, regulations, or orders, this
<br />contact may be taneelled, terminated or suspended
<br />in whole or in part end the lessee may be declared
<br />indigihle for further Government contracts in accord-
<br />ance with procedures mrthortzed in Executive Order
<br />No. 11246 of September 24, 1965, and such othw sano-
<br />bons may be imposed and remedies invoked as Provided
<br />in Executive Ordu No. 11246 of September 24, 1965,
<br />or by rate, regulation, or order of the Secretary of
<br />Labor, or es otherwise provided by law.
<br />(7) The lessee will include the provisions of
<br />Paragraphs (1) through (~ in every suhconlrcet or
<br />purchase ordu unless exempted by rates, regulations, .
<br />w orders o[ the Secretary of Labor issued pursuant to
<br />Section 204 of Execrtive Order No. 11246 of Sep-
<br />tember 24, 1965, co that such provisions will be binding
<br />upon each subcontractor or vendor. The lessee will
<br />take such action with respect to any subcontract or
<br />purchase order aY the contracting agmty may direct
<br />as a means of enforcing such pmvisions including
<br />sanctions for noncompliance: Provided, however, That
<br />in the, event the lessee becomes involved in, or is
<br />threwened with, litigation with a subcontactor or
<br />vendor es a result of such direction by the contracting
<br />agency, the lessee may request the United States
<br />to inter into such litigation to protect the interest
<br />of the United States. '
<br />(k) Land disposed o/ with coo( deposits reserved
<br />to the United States. If the lends embraced herein have
<br />been or shell hereafter be disposed of under laws re-
<br />serving to the United States the deposits of coal therein,
<br />to comply with all conditions es ere or may hereafter be
<br />provided by the taws and regulations reserving such
<br />coal.
