together, although they would probably not be reclaimed at the same time, as previously noted.
Reclamation will involve excavation, removal, and salvage or dispose of all of the Elk Creek Culvert
except for those portions approved for retention in conjunction with permanent posttnining road
crossings. The lower portion of the Elk Creek channel will then be reestablished through the mine
disturbance area consistent with approved postmining drainage designs, and remaining disturbance
azeas will be regraded to a stable configuration which ties into the existing topography and adjacent
reclaimed azeas. Reclamation of these areas will require approximately 123,000 ty of cut and 185,500
ry of fill. The remaining 62,500 ry of excess cut from the Elk Creek Mine Surface Facilities azea will
be used to meet the cut/fill material balance.
The only existing or proposed satellite facility requiring reclamation (other than miscellaneous water
and sewage effluent facilities, exploration sites and coalbed methane well sites and roads) is the
Substation No. 3 and C-Gulch Ventilation Shaft azea and the Hubbazd Creek Fansite area.
Reclamation of the substation No. 3 and C-Gulch ventilation azea will involve recovery and
disuibution of approximately 5,000 cY of material from the existing overburden stockpile and
regrading of the replaced material to tie into the existing topography. Reclamation of the Hubbard
Creek Fansite area will require recovery and distribution of approximately 6700 yazds of material from
the existing overburden stockpile and regrading of the replaced material to tie into the surrounding
topography. The miscellaneous satellite facilities noted above would generally require minimal
grading, which can be accomplished in conjunction with soil material replacement, and will involve a
direct on-site cut/fill balance.

TR-49 Revised January 2005
The final postmining configurations for all mine disturbance azeas aze shown on the Facilities
Postmining Topography Maps (Map 2.05-M6, Sheets 1 thru 6). Cuts and fills for final reclamation
backfilling and grading are shown on the Reclamation Cut/Fill Isopach Maps (Map 2.05-ES-Ml) and
post mine cross-section Map 2.05-RS-M2. Table 2.05-ES-T2, Reclamation Cut/Fill Summary,
provides a tab'ulaz summary of the volumes is shown on the Reclamation Cut/Fill Isopach Maps.
