\J
EXHIBIT G -WATER INFORMATION
Overview
Banks and Gesso, LLC
This section describes the existing water features in and nearby the proposed mining
permit area, potential impacts on water resources due to mining, and water requirements
for the project. Local surface water features in the vicinity of the project are shown on
Exhibit B, Index Map and on Exhibit C-1, Pre-Mining Map. A Gravel Well Permit and
Temporary Substitute Supply Plan will be submitted to the Colorado State Engineer at
the Division of Water Resources for approval.
Surface Water
The nearest major watercourse is the St. Vrain Creek, which flows within one-half mile of
the northwest corner of the property. Final discharge of excess water recovered and
clarified from de-watering of excavation areas on the permit site may be made to the St.
Vrain Creek via the nearby ditch system. Prior to any discharge activity to the St. Vrain
Creek, the operator will obtain a CPDS Permit and written permission from the ditch
company to allow the use of their ditch(es) for conveying de-watering flows.
Groundwater
Wells located within 600-feet of the permit boundary for the site are shown in Exhibit C-
1. The wells listed as being within 600-feet of the permit boundary are all alluvial wells.
It is not believed that any of these wells are a primary source of domestic drinking water,
as the Central Weld County Water District supplies treated water to the area.
Mining of the proposed excavation area of the permit will be by the "dry-mining" method.
De-watering operations will begin prior to material excavation. The Applicant has
obtained one share of water from the Last Chance Ditch Company, which will provide
383 acre-feet of water for use in augmentation.
Nix Property Sand and Gravel Mine.CDMG.112 Permit 20075.WD
Owens Brothers Concrete Company May 2001
18
