Site SW-S2W-SG-17. The site exists on Hubberson Gulch at the Pond 017 site. It was first sampled in
August, 1997. Samples at this site display aCaMg-HCO,SO4 type water with an average TDS value of
593 mg/I (range 530-6501.
Site SW-S2W-SG16. This site exists at the Pond 016 site. It is situated on a tributary to Hubberson
Gulch (a.k.a., 016 Gulchl that enters Hubberson Gulch below the Pond 017 site. It was first sampled
in August, 1997. Samples at this site display a MgCa-S04 HCO~ type water with an average TDS
valve of 803 mg/I (range 740-9301.
Spring 5-49. This is a spring developed with a 4 inch PVC pipe that flows into a stock tank. It is
located immediately above the Pond 016 site and was first sampled in August, 1997. Samples at this
site display aCaMg-HCO3 type water with an average TDS value of 657 mg/I (range 650-6701.
Spring S-7. This spring la.k.a., the Joshua Springs) serves as the water supply for the homestead
located in Section 21 along Hubberson Gulch. Samples from this springs display aCaMg-HCO~ S0.
type water with an average TDS value of 768 mg/I (range 704-8361.
SW-S2W-SG7. This site exists on Hubberson Gulch downstream of all of the previously mentioned
surface water sites, but upstream of the confluence of the Pond 006 discharges from the middle pit
area. It was first sampled in April, 1987. In 1997, it displayed aCaMg-HC03 S0, type water with an
. average TDS value of 617 mg/1 1470-7101.
Summary of Same Day Hubberson Gulch Measurements. Table 7-49 displays TDS and flow values
measured on the same days on Hubberson Gulch. This table demonstrates that both TDS and flow
values increase es one proceeds downstream.
SE•S2W-CG1. This site exists about 1500 feet downstream of the Pond 015 site Ino road existed
during the baseline study all the way up to the proposed pond locationl. It is situatetl on a tributary to
Sage Creek la.k.a., 015 Gulch). This site was initially monitored from January, 1980 to May, 1986.
Monitoring was re-established in July, 1997. Samples at this site display a CeMg-HCO~SO, type water
with an average TDS value of 423 mg/I (range 370-4601.
Surface Water Quality Suitability. SCC has compiled lists of standards for irrigation antl livestock.
These lists are composed mostly of CDPHE standards, although other agency standards been used if
they are more stringent or if the CDOH has no standard for a particular parameter. See SCC's Yoast
Mine Permit Application, Tables 7-21 and 7-23, for a more detailed explanation of these standards.
•
151 Revised 7/98
