•
_ 6 _ -
supplemental irrigation water is applied as needed to keep the
soil moist during germination and establishment stages of the
greases during the first gmxing season.
If extensive tree and shrub plantings are to be made, consider-
ation should be given to installing drip irrigation systems.
D, pII~IS CAL`IYCV QII933Y
Coarse rock debris has spilled doxn some of the slopes of
Qusens Canyon belox tee quarry level. Consideration has been
given to dumping £iner textured spoil down the slopes to cover
the coarse rocks and to fill in voids in an effort to create site
conditions more suitable to vegetation.
This proposed action is not recommended since odds for success
of this treatment are slight and to fail would leave a worse
r t
condition than nox exists from the standpoint of aesthatics and
erosion.
In its present state, thi.a rocky slope intercepts rai.afall.so
that native trees and shrubs should eventually become established.
Where finer quarry materials have already been deposited on the'
Canyon slopes, seeding and mulching according to previous recommen-
dations should be applied.
Two fairly large dams, built for the purpose of catching
sediment from the quarry operation, were constructed below the
quarry on a tributary to Camp Creek. These basins are nearly full
of sediment.
~..
.\~ - _
