CO 80203
Dear Erica Crosby,
In response to the Division of Wildlife's letter dated May I5, 1999 relative to the Sharp
Shinned Hawks and Mule Deer winter range.
Upon county inspections no Sharp Shinned Hawks nest was found on site or near site.
However, Rio Blanco County does agree not to commence any mining operation until
August 1, 1999 as outlined in the Division of Wildlife letter so as to not disturb the
habitat of this Raptor species.
The road closure gate is located one-quarter of a mile south of the proposed gravel pit.
We foresee no reason that this project would infringe upon the road closure or have any
adverse effect on the Bureau of Land Management's gate mentioned in the letter.
Reclamation of the site would include the Browser Species that currently inhabit this
area. These include sagebrush and service berry.
Sincerely,
Cr i n~ ~ 'G
James Joy
CC: Jerry Steele RBC Road Superintendent
