The ground was
moist and generally took the seed well, Also, the cold weather will
certainly inhibit any germination until spring. The map has been
completed, although it is not yet in a final form with various legends
and labels, is on two rather large sheets that will be merged in a final
draft. The map was completed about a week later than was originally
indicated, as the protect was considerably more involved than originally
thought and [he mapping company had other obligations that required
attention. Incidentally, the mapping you requested in pour inspection
report for this site cost very close to $15,000.
Leigh Whitehead and Associates are currently working on calculating the
volumes of the 37 piles identified on the site (these are the major ones
that include at least 90% of the total). We are not having them do very
single little pile on the site because many of them are product
stockpiles that amount to 25 to I00 cubic yards each and it would take
the engineer weeks to do all of those calculations. Furthermore, these
small piles come and go rather frequently as they are products. Some
are already purchased and are being kept on site until the customer
needs them, that is they actually do not belong to Transit Mix.
Unfortunately, the volume for the 37 identified piles will not be ready
for submittal today, but they should be ready early next week, along
with the new map, less formal legends. Once we have completed
addressing the information requested in your inspection report, we can
address the information in your supplemental letter of November 1, 1991.
