•
SI'PE SUl]~IARIES
Smithsonian i~`umber
Temporary Number
CulturallTemporal
Affiliation
Site Type
SlIF12G0
Cld-1
Euro-American/Historic
Historic homestead/farmstead
Site Description The site is apparently ahomestead/farmstead located
on the eastern terminal end of a heavily dissected
ridge. The site consists of three features. Feature No.
1 is a partially stsnding house, apparently collapsed
from the weight of snow. Feature No. 2 is a completely
collapsed shed and a section of a standing stock fence,
possibly Dart of a corral. Feature tip. 3, is a man-mace
pond, which t; as possibly dredged recently; cattails are
growing in a slightly shaded portion of the pond. The
site is estimated to be from the late 19~1Os from t}ie
presence of aluminum and steel screens.
Site Condition The condition of the site is poor. There is considerable
deterioration consisting of broken vaalls, missing doors,
missing chinking, collapsed shed, and downed fences.
However, the foundation and fireplace of Feature No. 1
are intact v:ith only minor deterioration.
NRHP Eligibility ~ The lack of integrity of the buildings and the apparently
recent (late 1910x) construction methods and techniques
indicate a lack of significance and ineligibility to the
NRHP. .
Project Impact Impact to the site is not expected at this time.
Recommendations No further work.
9
