EnIiIIIIT D <br />l1ATEp. 1;E SOURCES <br />The applicant feels that this project will be of little disturb- <br />ance [o the prevailing hydrology of the area. Experience c~ith similar <br />operations on other locations leads tlce applicant to believe that this <br />site will not be classified as "idetlands". Hocaever, the local Corps of <br />Engineers office will be consulted to verify this. 1'o dewatering will <br />be involved in this operation since the aggregates will be excavated <br />• by dragline. Therefore, no t:PDES Permit will be required. <br /> Runoff drill not be a problem from stocl:piles or adjacent areas. <br />The minor amounts that occur will be made to drain into the excavated <br />area. This ol.eration will remain a minimum of 50' from the north bank <br />of the Arkansas River. A flood protection berm of approximately 4' <br />in height will be constructed from overburden on the west and south <br />perimeters of the pit. <br />Tlie finished configuration caill contain 1 pond of approximately <br />6.5 surface acres after reclamation. Any excess overburden will be <br />used to add sinuosity to the shore line and further reduce [he pond <br />surface area. <br />The applicant believes it is in compliance with existing federal <br />and state laws and regulations governing caater and water rights. It <br />• is not expected that this operation c•~ill cause measuraUle, material <br />injury to senior water rights. <br /> <br />
