4.03 R~S1D6
9.03.1 Raul Roads. (Gbnt'd.)
• (4) (a) (iv)
See 4.03.1(4)(b)-(e).
(4) (b) (i)
'Ihe Orchard Valley Mine haul road is an existing structure. All exposed
surface areas within cut and fill slopes were revegetated as described in
Section 2.05.4 Reclamation Plan.
All exposed surfaces within the cut and fill slopes of the Orchard Valley
west Mine haul road will be revegetated as described in Section 2.05.4.
The Orchard Valley R-0-M coal stockpile haul road is an existing
structure. All exposed surface areas within cut and fill slopes were
revegetated as described in Section 2.05.4 Reclamation Plan.
(4) (b) (ii)
Riprap and vegetative sediment filters are used at selected places.
Riprap is placed as rec~~ired at drainage structures. Straw dikes are most
wrtnronly used at areas of tertg3orary construction (refer to Straw Dike
Specification, Surface Drainage Appendix, Volume 8). All drainage
structures either reduce overland flow velocity, reduce runoff volume or
trap sediment.
• (4) (b) (iii)
ODVGC is prepared to employ additional measures if those presently in use
do not satisfactorily minimize erosion, resultant siltation, and
disturbance to the prevailing hydrologic balance. No additional measures
are deemed necessary at this time.
(4) (c)
The Orchard Valley Mine haul road drainage ditches at the toe of cut
slopes and cross drain culverts have been constructed at selected
intervals. All cross drain culverts at switchbacks or fills discharge
water below the fills. No water is discharged onto the fills.
Drainage ditches and cross drain culverts used in the Orchard Valley West
Mine haul road dischan7e water below fills.
The Orchard Valley R-o-M coal stockpile haul road drainage ditches at the
toe of cut slopes and cross drain culverts have been constructed at
selected intervals. No water is discharged onto the fills.
(4) (d)
The orchard Valley Mine haul road has been asphalt paved to maximize usage
based on traffic and the weight and speed of the vehicles. The asphalt
surface prevents ponding, provides erosion control, and provides road
surface stability.
TR 92-18 Revised 07/08/99
10
