777 <br />• site: 5MF328 (Figs 4, 46). <br />site Type: Open architectural. <br />Location: NW=;SE!;, Sec. 13, Ton, R91w; UTM Zone 13, E281,110m., N4,465,770m. <br />Description: 5MF328 consists of two historic features located near the crest <br />of a relatively high ridge, facing to the southwest. Elevation at the site <br />is 6388 ft. (1,947 m.). The nearest water is at feature 2, which is a sand- <br />stone slab-lined circular well located 16 m. southwest of the datum. Feature 1 <br />is a completely collapsed log structure 4.6 by 5.0 m. in size. The structure <br />was built using saw-cut and ax-notched logs laid on a sandstone block founda- <br />tion. Vegetation at the site includes nettles, grasses, sagebrush, larkspur, <br />and Gamble's oak. Material culture observed includes glass fragments, Mason <br />jars and tops, sheet metal, washing machine wringer assembly, and parts of a <br />woodburning stove. The site has a jeep trail cutting through the center, be- <br />• tween features 1 and 2, but appears to be otherwise undisturbed. <br />IS ' <br />Diagnostic k.ktifacts: None. <br />evaluation: The potential historical significance of 5MF328 should be evaluated <br />by a trained Colorado historian with adequate archival evidence at his disposal. <br />• <br />
