169 <br />• site: 5MF318 (Figs 4, 42). <br />site Type: Open lithic. <br />Locacion: SW';NE!;SW!a, Sec. 20, Ton, R90w; UTM Zone 13, E285,925m., N4,463,525m. <br />Description: 5MF318 is an open lithic site located on a bench 50 m. south of <br />Deep Rock Gulch, at the foot of a northwest-facing slope. The nearest source <br />of water is Deep Rock Gulch. Elevation at the site is 7040 ft. (2,146 m.). <br />The local vegetation includes sagebrush, aspen, Gamble's oal;, and grasses. The <br />site consists of a very thin scatter of flakes in a 30 by 50 m. area. No tools <br />or permanent features were observed. <br />The site is eroding on the northwest edge above the drainage, and sheet- <br />wash is depositing material from above on the southeast side of the site. No <br />other on-site disturbance is evident. <br />Diagnostic Artifacts: None. <br />Evaluation: 5MF318 has no potential for yielding information important to pre- <br />history and should not be nominated to the NRNP. No further action is required <br />at this site. <br /> <br />
