152 <br />• site: 5RT17 (Figs 2, 32). <br />site Type: Open architectural. <br />rACation: NE SE!;, Sec. 4, T5n, R86w; UTP4 Zone 13, E317,840m., N4,476,125m. <br />Description: 5RT17 is an historic architectural site composed of two fea- <br />tures. The first is a dwelling made of logs with a milled lumber roof, <br />and the second is an outbuilding made of sheet metal on a 2 by 4 in. frame- <br />work. The site elevation is 6760 ft. (2,060 m.). Vegetation on the site <br />includes sagebrush, cactus, and grasses. The nearest water is Nofstger- <br />Ziegler Reservoir, 300 m. to the north. The site is situated on the east <br />side of an interfluvial ridge, overlooking a seasonal drainage that flows <br />into the reservoir. The area covered by the site is 120 by 60 m. Cultural <br />materials reported include sheet metal roofing, cut-wire nails, ceramic <br />• electric insulators,and other trash. There is some erosion near the struc- <br />tures, but otherwise the site is undisturbed. <br />Diagnostic artifacts: None. <br />Evaluation: Evaluation of 5RT17 for nomination to the NRHP must await <br />analysis of the archival data on the site by a trained specialist in Colo- <br />rado history. <br /> <br />
