Doerfer, Reclamation Specialist
Mined Land Reclamation Division
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
RE: File No. M-88-042
Dear Mr. Doerfer:
Thank you for sending for the City of Longmont's review Western Paving
Construction Co.'s application for a sand and gravel pit to be known as
Cottonwood Farm.
Several Staff members from the City have discussed this application. The
only concern we have is that effective measures be required to control
fugitive dust during all stages of this operation. The City of Longmont is
concerned about its air quality; particulates are a notable concern in
Longmont's environs. I understand that the applicant is required to obtain an
emissions permit from the State of Colorado, and trust that through either of
these permitting processes, the issue of controlling fugitive dust will be
addressed.
Again thank you for the opportunity to comment. If you have any
questions, please call either Froda Greenberg or myself at 572-0719 Ext. 8330.
Sincerely,
Marta Bromschwig, AICP
Planning Director
xc: Kathie Faatz, Conservation Specialist
File: iE2050-34
