J~ 2010 Sante Fe Trail ~ /-ZBD y-p Z~ Trinidad, CO 81082 Name/Type and Location of Mine (Legal) The Broyles Pit / Gravel Pit R61W T32S Sec 7 NW1/4 S1/2 (9.96 acres) Wildlife Species List Typical Upland Species Various Passerine Birds Mule Deer Whitetail Deer Pronghorn Turkey Scaled Quail Western Rattle Snake RECEIVED JUL 14 X104 Division of Minerals Endangered/Critical Species/Impacted: No Known Threatened or Endangered Species Prairie Dogs present in vicinity Critical Habitats/Vegetative Communities Impacted: Area contains shortgrass prairie with shallow soils Recommend that all areas disturbed be reclaimed back to shortgrass prairie habitat Assessment of Impact: Site visit was conducted on July 7, 2004, by Jeremy Gallegos - District Wildlife Manager for the Colorado Division of Wildlife. Disturbance to shortgrass habitat is likely to occur by the proposed actions. With prairie dogs present in the vicinity, care must be taken with the possible negative impacts to burrowing owls. Although impact to shortgrass habitat will be likely, the overall impact to wildlife species should be minimal. Mine Reclamation Recommendations (include key species/habitats for which restoration is designed): The Division of Wildlife should be consulted before reclamation activities begin to ensure benefits to wildlife.
