The unit is more per- <br />sistent laterally than any other bed in the Williams Fork Forma- <br />tion. It is considered the first aquifer benearth the mine plan <br />area Chat satisfies the OSM definition. <br />~{ <br />4.2.3 Trout Creek Sandstone Aquifer <br />The Trout Creek Sandstone lies directly beneath [he Williams Fork <br />Formation. This massive sandstone unit has not been tested but <br />probably carries large quantities of water. However, due to its <br />depth and separation from mining activities by both aquitards <br />(upper and lower Williams Fork Formations) and an aquifer in <br />between (the Twenty Mile Sandstone) [he unit will not be <br />affected. <br />r' <br />-28- <br />
