• The tabular t value for an a = 0.1 and n-1 degrees of freedom (d.f.)for the redaimed area in 2000 is
as follows:
Reclaimed Area Tabular tvalue =1.7109
Calculation of the f statistic for the reclaimed community results in the following value:
Reclaimed Area i< statistic= 12.6747
Comparison of the calculated t-statistic (C) for the redaimed community wRh the respective tabular t value
indicates that P is far greater than t,. Therefore it can be concluded that the ground cover performance
standard was met at the required significance level of a = 0.1 for the redaimed area in 2000.
3.3 Production
Evaluation of the production variable in accordance with Rules 3.03 and 4.15 utilizing the testing
• protocols detailed above also results in a positive finding regarding the 2000 sampling data. In this
regard, review of the second portion of Table RS 1 indicates that the mean yearly perennial production of
the reclaimed area substantially exceeds 90% of the analogous value for the extended reference area for
2000. In 2000, the revegetated area mean (82.99 g/0.5m~ is far greater than 90% of the value of the
extended reference azea (12.25 g/0.5m~. This finding is validated statistically using the one-sample
reverse null hypothesis test. The decision rules for this test were:
If r s t Sian-i ar.>, conclude failure to meet the performance standard, and
If t > t ~iaN~ Q,.~conclude that the performance standard was met (for a = 0.1).
The tabular t value for an a = 0.1 and n-1 degrees of freedom (d.i.) for the redaimed area for 2000
is as follows:
Reclaimed Area Tabular tvalue =1.6883
Calculation of the C statistic for the reclaimed community results in the following value:
Reclaimed Area t` statistic= 17.6382
6.'61mA64 6~®S o~, rNC.
