OFFICE OF THE STATE ~INEER, STATE CF COLORADO • NOTICE GF A PERMIT APPLICATION TO CONSTRUCT A WELL IGRAVEL PIT LAKE) IN THE MATTER OF A PERMIT APPLICATION TO CONSTRUCT A WELL IGRAVEL PIT LAKE) TO BE LOCATED LESS THAN 600 FEET FROM EXISTING WELLS APPLICANT: WESTERN MOBILE -LAFARGE CORPORATION APPLICATION RECEIPT NO. 458230 To: Charles Aden School District 27J On March 21, 2000, Western Mobile-Lafarge Corporation submitted an application for a permit to construct a well Igravel pit lake) in. the NW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 10, Township 2 South, Range 67 West, 6th P. M., in Adams County, Colorado. Information available to this office has shown that the subject well Igravel pit lake) may be located less than 600 feet from existing wells. Pursuant to C.R.S. 37-90-137(2), the requested permit cannot be issued by the State Engineer unless the State Engineer finds, after a hearing, that circumstances in this particular instance so warrant. The provision of C.R.S. 37-90- 137I211b)III)(Al provides that if the State Engineer notifies the owners of all wells within 600 feet of the subject well Igravel pit lake) by certified mail and receives no response within the time set forth in the notice, no hearing shall be required. The personls) listed above have been identified as the owner(s) of an existing well that appears to be located within 600 feet of the subject well Igravel pit lakel. As required by statute, notice of the application is hereby provided pursuant to C.R.S. 3 7-90-7 3712)Ib)(!I)IA), and a copy of the permit application is attached. Anyone objecting to the issuing of a permit for the subject well (gravel pit lake) must submit a written response to this notice not later than 5:00 p.m. on June 19, 2000. Such response should contain a brief and plain statement of the reasons why the State Engineer should not grant a permit for the subject well (gravel pit lake). If responding, please direct correspondence to Megan Sullivan and reference the above receipt number. A copy of the response should be provided to the applicant. If you do not wish to participate in a hearing that might result in this matter, or have previously signed a 600 foot well spacing waiver statement, no response is needed.
