I think dte task of having to till out
your long address on the envelope kept me from starting this.
Seriously, I have been trying to get more information. However with the
deadline coming up I decided I better do this now.
If I remember right you told me that most of the concerns I have about this
proposed project you don't (Save any thing to do with. So 1 will just ask a
couple of things. The amount of gravel to be extracted per year. In the
newspaper the figure mentioned is 70,000 tons per year. Maybe I missed
sotttetltittg when reading the permit application, because the amount that
might be extracted is left blank. Does that mean even larger amounts could
mined causing more iatpact.
The application also shows the primary fuh+re land use (post-training) as wild
life habitat. Later it mentions about how there can be a modification in the
reclamation plan if it's submitted a+td approved for a modification.
Would that mean if in the future a change is asked for and then approved,
that the post use at this site could become an industrial or a solid waste
disposal site, two outer possible uses +ttetttiotted. This greatly concerns ttte
because of the weal: land use and zoning laws in Delta County.
The county commissioner I talked to expressed the same concern that the
lack of zoning could cause future problems, though she was talking about
the county as a whole and not just this project
