Mined Land Reclamation Division SUBJ: Ravenkamp Pit No. 1, File No. M-91-060 REFER TO For Wildlije- For People Dear Dan: The Division has reviewed the above referenced application and in consultation with Tammy Fox, District Wildlife Manager, Kit Carson District, offer the following comments. The site location is situated such that impacts to the wildlife resource should be negligible. We would ask that topsoil be stripped and stockpiled for use during reclamation. Stockpiled topsoil should be seeded to prevent erosion if it remains unused for a period longer than six months. Slopes during reclamation should not be steeper than 3H:1V. Finally, we would ask that the area be reseeded with a native seed mix per SCS recommendations, and that the site be fenced to exclude livestock during this period until such time that MLRD determines adequate vegetative cover exists, per reclamation specifications, to release bond.
