Rindahl, P.E.
Director of Mined Land Reclamation
Department of Natural Resources
615 Centennial Building
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, CO 80203
ATTENTION: Rade Orell
SUBJECT: Application for Permit, Alexander Pit
Dear Mr. Rindahl:
Enclosed are five (5) copies of a letter from the San Miguel County
Planning Commission concerning Nielsons, Inc. operation at Telluride,
Colorado. This is written confirmation of verbal approval obtained
July 8, 1976.
This letter and the following information is supplied in answer to
your letter of August 24, 1976.
Reclamation cost may be found under the heading "Estimated Cost of
Reclamation" as indicated on the original application.
The depth of the gravel bed has not been determined, but the depth
to be mined is from ten (10) to twenty (20) feet as shown on the map.
House Bill Number 1065 requires the name of "The owner of the sub-
stance to be mined" which in the case of sand and gravel is the surface
owner. The mineral owner in this case is the surface owner as the
title to the land is by patented, placer claims.
The reclamation map is the General Map as the area will look as shown
with the exception of affected area which will appear after removal
of gravel as shown on the typical section.
The scale of the General Map Typical Section may be taken as 1" = 100'
horizontal and 1" = 20' vertical, as shown on the map.
The "Notice to Adjoining Landowners" and the "Notice to Adjoining Surface
Owners" would appear to be the same funtion and by law cannot be done at
this time.
If further clarification or information is required, please contact us
as soon as possible.
If the application is now in order, kindly inform us so that the operation
can be reviewed in the field and public notice can begin.
Very truly yours,
NIELSONS, INC.
Chris Nofsinger~Engineer
"dN ED OdL OPPORTON/TY Ed1PLOYER"
