Critical Area Planting 342-3 <br />Time of seeding <br />Grasses, legumes and other seeded species shall be planted within the seeding <br />periods specified in Table 1, with the provision that up to 10 days tolerance <br />from the specified periods may be allowed for the purpose of adapting to local <br />soil moisture conditions. Rocky Mountain peiistemon, hairy vetch, milkvetch <br />and Indian ricegrass should be planted in the fall so _Lha,t.,freezinQ and thaw>~ <br />can break seed dormancy for spring ,germination. <br />Table 1. Purity and germination tests for all-lots <br />of seed shall be less than one year old. <br />Selection of species <br />Species planted shall be selected from the tables of "Perennial Grasses and-_Forbs <br />for Critical Area Plantings" and from the table of "Woody Plants for Critical Area <br />Plantings" attached to this specification (Tables 2 through 12). Use the attached <br />map of Major Land Resource Areas as a guide to the plant tables. The tables list <br />species that are normally available on a commercial basis.
