Hanson
Sox 42E
[.'elden, Colorado 50480
P.E: Holsinger Gravel Pit, letter of objection
Our File: X80-52
Dear Mr. Hanson:
On April 23, 1950, the Mined Iand Reclamation Board granted
approval of the above permit. your letter of objection was
received May 1st, and could not be considered by the Board
Fer Rule 3.3 ~n the Rules and Regulations (attached).
In a letter dated February 13, 1980, Jackson County indlceted
to the Division that the above mine is located in Jackson
County's Ranching District Zone and is a "Use By Right" for
a sand and gravel extractive operation affecting leas than
10 acres and extracting less than 70,000 tons of mineral,
overburden, or combination thereof during any calender year
(see copy of letter, attached).
F~ are sorry your objections were not considered before the
Board made its decision. In retrospect, it appears that the
nature of the objections were not concerned so much with
environmental factors as they were aimed at zoning conflicts
and should probably be directed toward the County for aay
subsequent action.
Respectfully yours,
Brad Janes
Reclamation Specialist
~ BJ/jm
Enclosures
cc; Reith Holsinger
