H I G H W A Y l•1 O R K <br />Invitation for Bids <br />(Notice to Contractors) <br />Sealed Proposals for highway work as listed on the reverse side will <br />be received by the Division of Highways, State of Colorado, at the <br />office of the Chief of Administrative Services, Denver, Colorado, <br />until the time and date specified for each project listed with this <br />notice, and will then be publicly opened and read. <br />Plans, Specifications and Proposal form may be procured by Prequali- <br />fied Contractors from the Division of Highways, 4201 East Arkansas <br />Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80222. Billing for these plans will be <br />at the rate of Ten Dollars ($10.00) per set, without refund. Any <br />additional 1/2 size sheets, when available, may be obtained on pay- <br />ment of Seventy Five Cents ($0.75) per sheet, also without refund. <br />Each Proposal must be accompanied by a Proposal Guaranty consisting <br />of a properly Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bid Bond, as speci- <br />fied for each project, for the amount indicated, without conditions, <br />payable to the DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS. The Proposal Guaranties accom- <br />panying the three lowest Proposals may be held until the contract is <br />awarded, provided this period does not exceed thirty days; the Pro- <br />posal Guaranties accompanying the other Proposals will be returned <br />promptly after the bid prices have been compared. <br />Each Proposal must contain a unit bid price for each item and for <br />each alternate item shown in the bidding schedule. Failure to in- <br />clude unit bid prices for alternate items inay be cause for rejection. <br />The Proposal and Proposal Guaranty must be placed in one envelope <br />(separate for each project bid upon) securely sealed therein and <br />labeled: <br />PROPOSAL FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF COLORADO <br />PROJECT N0. <br />with the designation and nuinber• filled in. The Division of Highways <br />will not be responsible for the premature opening of Proposals not <br />properly labeled. <br />Construction on each project shall begin when ordered by the Chief <br />Engineer, and Contractor shall maintain at all times a maximum <br />efficient working force which will insure completion of the work <br />within the time specified for each project.
