Certified tonnages of clay purchased from the Jenkins pit averaged 4,410 _ tons per fiscal year from 1961 through 1978 with 1962, 1963 and 19E~5 being years of abandonment. ~ ' Since the open mining special use amendment was effective on July E'~, 1976, of continuous legal non-conforming use status has been maintained a2th records of operation certified by George W. Stock Jr., Chief Accountant, for ' the Denver ffiick & Pipe Cor~any. Any future expansion or enlargement of operations, however, beyond the original 40 acres recognized for the 1966 use pewit shall be authorized ' only through the current Special Use Permit process.
