Simpson
Slate Engineer
V1'e have reviewed the application for the Hogue/River Pit, as per your request of
December 23, 1992. The operator plans to mine sand and gravel and to reclaim the area
by creating a 25 acre pond. The mining will encounter ground water, however, this area
is located where water is still available for appropriation so that the only requirement of
t}tis office is that the required fees be paid and a well permit be obtained. The permit is
presently being processed and should be issued in the next few days. For this reason, we
have no objection to the approval of the Hogue/River Pit.
Should you have any additional questions, please contact this office.
cc: Ed Blank, Division Engineer
Elvis Iacovetto, Water Commissioner
