ERO Resources <br />• Taxonomic Claaeification: Loanry-skeletal, mixed (calcareous), frigid <br />family of Lithic Vatic Torriorthents. <br />Setting: Rentsac soils are on the highest ridgetops of the area along the <br />county road and fingering oast and went. They have formed in sandstone <br />and loamstone residuum having more than 35 percent fine sand or coarser <br />material in the matrix. Slopes are 6 to 20 percent. <br />General Characteristics: Rentcac soils are well-drained with moderately <br />rapid to rapid permeability and slow to medium runoff. Vegetation is <br />primarily juniper, big sagebrush, mixed perennial grasses and cheatgrass. <br />Rare in Characteristics; Textures are loam to very channsry loam with 15 <br />to 30 percent clay, Coarse fragement content is 30 to 50 percent with <br />accumulaiona of visible secondary calcium carbonate below about 6 inches. <br />Reaction is mildly to moderately alkaline with variable alkalinity <br />throughout.
