They have <br />formed in residuum from weathered shale and claystona. Slopes are 6 to 30 <br />percent. <br />fieneral Characteristics; Moyereon' soils are we11-drained with moderately <br />slow to slow permeability and medium to moderately rapid runoff. <br />Vegetation is primarily mixed perennial grasses and big sagebrush with <br />some areas of cheatgrass. <br />B_ange in Characteristics: Textures are loam to silty clay with more than <br />35 percent clay in the control section. Coarse fragment content is 5 to <br />40 peroent with accumulations of visible saoondary calcium carbonate below <br />about 7 inches. Reaction is mildly to moderately alkaline with alkalinity <br />increasing with depth.
