ERO Resources <br />• <br />The Redcreek soil is shallow, coarse-textured and well-drained. It <br />developed from calcareous loasistone and sandstone. Sma11 areas of Rentsac <br />and Worfka soda and rock outcrop were included in mapping. Rentwc soils <br />are shallow and skeletal. Norfka soils ors shallow but with fine-textures <br />and argillic horizons. These soils and rock outcrop ocoupy less than 20 <br />percent of the mapping unit. <br />In a typical profile, the surface layer is pale brown loam about 4 inches <br />thick. The subsurface soil is pa 1• brown sandy loan about 4 inches <br />thick. The substratum is very pale brown caloareous loam about 8 inches <br />thick and is underlain wih slightly fractured aalcareous loamctone at a <br />depth of 16 inches, <br />The Redcreek soil has moderate permeability and medium runoff. Ths <br />erosion hazard is moderate to high from wind. Available waterholding <br />capacity is moderate. Effective rooting depth is ]0 to 20 inches. <br />• <br />This coil is used for livestock grazing and wildlife habitat. The <br />vegetation is primarily big sagebrush, juniper and mixed perennial grasses <br />and cheatgrass. <br />The average depth of suitable topsoil material is 8 irahes. This material <br />is rated fair to good with suitability deoreasing with depth. Care should <br />be taken to avoid the rock exposures. <br /> <br />II.I-20 <br />
