The Class ~ lands are very <br />rooky to the surface making them unsuitable for use as topsoil. Mapping <br />units in the survey area including rock outcrop are associated with the <br />shailow Moyerson, Redoreek and Rvntsac soils. <br />b. TOPSOiI IaAN'M iNP. <br />The topsoil resources on the affeoted areas are adequate to erasure <br />successful reclamation with oareful handling. Since the predominant soils <br />to be disturbed in the 8 Portal area are fine Lextured, the topsoil should <br />be handled only when moist Inot very wet or very dryl and extra protection <br />provided to prevent loss to water erosion. Nirrter and spring are the <br />preferred seasons for handling topsoil. Prewetting is not recommended. <br />• The coarse fragments present in these soils will help reduce the potential <br />problems of compaction, crusting and erosion. <br />• <br />II.I- 9 <br />
