VI. Weed Mapping and Inventory <br />The mapping of noxious weeds as well as noxious weed surveys are beneficial <br />in: <br />.t Determining the extent of the noxious weed infestation. <br />.t Determining noxious weeds by species within the infestation area. <br />.t Establishing a priority of which noxious weed(s) to control first, thus enabling <br />better use of time and resources. <br />.t Providing a convincing data source for the public, to "drive home" the <br />urgency of controlling noxious weeds. <br />Vll. Implementation <br />In order for a noxious weed plan to be functional, priorities are set in order of <br />importance: <br />.t Education through newspaper articles, displays and seminars and workshops <br />for ranchers, farmers and the general public. <br />.t Establishing an integrated method best suited for the specific noxious weed <br />problem. <br />.i Maintain and/or establish. cooperative agreements between federal and state <br />entities, municipalities, and private landowners. <br />.t Development of a mapping system, both daily and long-term. <br />.t In the long-term, develop criteria for the revegetafion of right-of-ways. <br />Vlll.
