Dear Ms. Crosby:
Enclosed please find three copies of material addressing the
adequacy concerns .in the December 17, 1996 letter from Mr. Harry
Ranney with regard to the application for renewal no. 03 of the
• Seneca II Mine Permit C-80-005.
Responses and the corresponding permit information have been
provided for all of the adequacy concerns mentioned. Exhibit 13-2,
Backfilling and Grading Schedule, is currently being worked on and
is not yet finished. This was one of the few maps in the Seneca II
PAP that was computer generated from the Arclnfo database in
Flagstaff. Seneca has been unable to start downloading and
cataloging the information which goes into creating this particular
exhibit. It will be submitted to the Division as soon as possible.
One other comment I would like to make pertains to the ownership
and control information which was revised with this submittal.
Seneca is not revising this same ownership and control data for the
Seneca II and Yoast Mines at the present time for the following
reason. Hanson, PLC is in the process of demerging Peabody Holding
Company, Inc. and its subsidiaries into a new company called The
Energy Group, PLC. we believe it would be best to wait until the
demerger has been completed and then all new information can be
submitted at one time for all three mines. This will save work on
our part, since this information is provided from St. Louis
personnel, as well as the time it will take the Division to review
this material.
