If the County is unwilling to conduct a proper study, then we request
permission to have access to Mr. Camilletti's property to do an independent study
by someone who is qualified and who has high credibility in the field. Anything
less is unacceptable and not worth the paper it will be written on.
From this study, we also want to know the effects of mining on the watertable
from which the residents of the town of Milner (particularly the Milner Trailer
Park) get their water. The question to County officials is what will be the
recourse of Milner residents if their water shows contaminants or if their wells run
low? We have advised baseline testing of all Milner wells as soon as possible. If
they must make the applicant and the County accountable for their actions they
will be able to do so.
We hope you will make the right decision for residents west of Steamboat, not
just those who will profit from gravel mining.
Sincerely,
Vicky & Jeff Ferguson
Rebecca & Steve Hilley
Sandy & Hank Kebodeaux
Michael King
Stuart Orzach
James Pavlik
Shelly & Steve Riley
Tina 8 Roger Segler
Loretta Van Norstrand
Jib Venti
Lora Werner
