Mapping Units X8D and XSF <br />• Winevada fine sandy loam <br />~J <br />• <br />This is a moderately deep, well-drained soil on gently to strongly <br />sloping benches and mountain sideslopes. It formed in material weathered <br />from sandstone. <br />Included in this unit are Coutis fine sandy loam (34E) and Skylick loam <br />(66D). <br />Typically the upper surface layer is very dark gray fine sandy loam <br />about 4 inches thick. The lower surface layer is dark grayish brown <br />sandy clay loans about 24 inches thick overlying fractured hard sand- <br />stone. <br />Permeability is moderate. Effective rooting depth ranges from 20 to 40 <br />inches. Available water capacity is low. Surface runoff is slow. <br />Erosion hazard is moderate from water. <br />_22_ <br />
