EXHIBIT B - MINING PLAN - FIRST REPLACEMENT
Mining operations shall be a simple removal process in
a dry alluvial setting of moderate to gently sloping surface
topography wherein the gravel and sand to be removed is
found at the surface and continues downward for the full
depth of the mining operations.
As conditions require, the mined substances will be
pushed into the pit by bulldozers working outward from the
center of an existing pit, or fromt end loaders will remove
materials directly from the pit walls at the bottom of the
pit. where removal can be effected by the first method,
sufficient slope will be maintained at all times to permit
the movement of equipment from ground level to the floor of
the pit in the area of operations.Where removal from the
bottom is required, sufficient slope will be maintained to
provide latteral and subjacent support. These procedures
will result in a gradual expanding of the boundaries of the
pit until the boundaries of the affected area have been
reached.
Once gravel has been moved to or removed from the
bottom of the pit, bulldozers will be used to consolidate
the mined materials into stockpiles. From this point,
front-end loaders will be used to load the mined materials
into dump trucks for removal from the mining area.
It will not be required to store top soil or overburden
since there is no top soil to speak of, and the material to
be mined begins at the original surface of the land.
As indicated above in this narrative and as indicated
in the quarter section and site maps accompanying this
application, mining operations will begin at the boundaries
of an existing pit. Extraction will proceed in a Northerly
and Northesterly direction toward the boundaries of the
permit area.
Mining operations shall affect less than ten acres and
extraction shall be less than 70,000 tons of material per
year for the life of the mine.
It is anticipated that mining operations will be
conducted gradually but continuously for a period of
approximately 50 years.
