None of the Dorchester mining-operation is located on Prime Farm Iand
as shfrm on the 1980 map of Important Farmlands of Fremont County, published
by the USDA Soil Conservation Srsvicn and Colorado State Univ-Experiment Stati
2. Alluvial Valley Floor, Perhaps by some definitions the very small narrow
dralnageway could be classed as an "alluvial valley floor".
Hrnever, the potential to grow agronomic crops on this site is not significant
Effective Soil material is shallow and complex. Water available far agrieultu
uses is severely lie, ited. Fo 1rrlgation rater rights exist. Tne area is so
small xith soil and vater, reso{sces so limited as to render any agronomic uses
not feasible.
I have also dlseussed these land use potentials xith Mayne Collette of the FYe
mont County Extension Service.
