As per your letter we have corrected Midas Mining Company Inc.
copy to read 10th (New Mexico) P.M. and we are sending a
corrected copy to Bureau of Land Management in Gunnison for
for their file.
2. The new map outlines the Permit Boundary and the 9•$4 acres
which includes portions of the Ophir Lode, Ophir Mill Site
and the proposed BLM land, see Exhibit E maps.
3. The map presented with the application has a scale of 1 to
2,k00. We have us ed Rose Cabin as a location point and
the mine property is approximately one mile up Henson Creek
a few yard Southwest of the old bridge that crosses Henson.
The new map in Exhibit E shows all land surrounding mine area
is owned by BLM.
4. A water sample was taken
2, 2001 find inspection.
5. Mr. John Scott knows the
however the mine drawing
to be too far west. Soi
Rock Slide.
from Site 5 agreed upon at the October
Water sample test enclosed.
mine property is on Red Cloud Creek,
on the soil conservation map appears
L type RO is Rock Outcrop and RS is
6. The country rock on the old waste rock pile will be removed
and used on the access road. The enlarged waste rock site is
shown on new map Exhibit E. The waste rock will be dumped from
the top and the pile will be shaped. The distance from portal
to new ore storage area is approximately 150 feet and will use
existing road.
7. After careful research on the use of pad liners for an ore
storage area, we have been encouraged not to attempt this pro-
gram. Even the non-penetrating materials will tear under
hard use and this would defeat our purpose. In the new ore
storage area we plan to remove all top soil and then work the
ore over base rock. If any drainage would occur it will go
to settling pond C for monitoring. We plan to cover the ore
pile during the rainy season and plan to ship all ore prior
to winter closing the roads.
Wayne R.
