Limited-Results Cultural Resowce Survey Form (page 3 of 4)
LITERATURE REVIEW (continued)
25. Known Cultural Resources
In the project area: No previously rewrded sites have been identified in the project azea.
In the general region: One historic town and two prehistoric isolated fords have been recorded in the
general vicinity of the project area.
26. Expected Results: Few, ifany, cultural resources were expected because ofthe results ofprevious, nearby
and/or overlapping inventories, because of the relatively dense vegetation cover in some of theproject area
and because of the steep natwe of the terrain.
VI. STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVES
27. identify and assess any cultural resowces within potential area of effect
VII. FIELD METHODS
28. Usingyourprofessionalknowledgeoftheregion,whyaretherenoneorverylimitedcuitura]remains
in the project area? Is there subsurface potential?: The topography and vegetation cover are such that
they are not conducive to occupation in any of the project area. Part of the eastern end of the project area
has experienced total disturbance from placement of an earlier disposal pile. Finally, soils in-the project
area are generally thin and/or very rocky as well, indicating little potential for subsurface cultwal deposits.
