<br /> <br />Permit #M-96-081, Adequacy Review <br />8' <br />TOP BENCH <br />15' ~ \ <br />35' ~ <br />^O <br />8' <br />BACKSLOPE ANGLE ~ <br />y0 \ <br />PIT SLOPE ANGLE <br /> <br />Page 2 <br />Seventy Degrees is a conservative value that has been used in the <br />Cripple Creek and Victor Mining District, some of the existing pits <br />have backslope angles as steep as 80°, even though the overall pit slope <br />is 65° with a bench height of 40 ft. and a bench width of 12 ft. <br />The excavation of this pit will be a relatively slow process and the <br />ground conditions can be carefully monitored for slope stability as <br />mining progresses. <br />II Exhibit C, page 11 is modified to delete all references to toxic or acid <br />forming materials, which will not be present as part of this proposed <br />operation. <br />III Exhibit C, page 10 has been rewritten to delete all references to the an <br />adjacent area for Turquoise sorting, this will not be part of this <br />operation. <br />EXHIBIT D -Reclamation Plan <br />The overall plan is to do contemporaneous reclamation as mining <br />progresses, the entire open area would not expect to exceed 850 cu yds. <br />Enclosed are revised pages 1, 10, 11. 11(a) and 12 for the permit application. <br />Sincerely, <br />PIONEER ENGINEERING <br />
