EASTERN MINING DISTRICT <br />• A portion of the Eastern Mining district has been surveyed and those records are available at the <br />local Bureau of Land Management office located in Craig, Colorado. The areas of new surface <br />disturbance (i.e. new facilities) will be surveyed as per the regulations. Once completed, this <br />information will be forwarded to the Division. Also, if areas that have not been surveyed are <br />undermined and subsided and repair work is required, the area will be surveyed prior Io initiating <br />the repair. The results of the survey will be forwarded to the Division and the Division, through <br />SHPO, can comment on the survey and advise if any additional mitigation is necessary. <br />Twentymile contracted Metcalf Archaeological Consultants, lnc. to conduct an investigation of <br />site SR T18S. The report for this investigation can be found in Exhibit 6D. This is a confidential <br />exhibit and should be handled accordingly. <br />Finally, site specific surveys were conducted for the ventilation shaft and dewatering pond areas. <br />The reports resulting from the surveys can be found in Exhibits 6E and 6F, respectively. Please <br />note these are confidential exhibits and should be handled accordingly. <br />Phase Il Seismic Survev and Mine Water Return Line <br />Four seismic lines and a mine water return line will be constructed by'fCC in the fourth quarter <br />of 1996 or the first quarter of 1997. A Class III Cultural Resource ]nventory was conducted by <br />Metcalf Archaeological Consultants, lnc. for the proposed lines. The report is presented in <br />Exhibit 6H of the Confidential Appendix. <br />EMD (Panels 2 Right through 6 Right) (PR 97-04) <br />• No new surface facilities are required for mining the remaining reserves in the Eastern Mining <br />District. <br />NORTHERN MINING DISTRICT (NMD) (PR 99-05) <br />No new surface facilities are planned for the Northern Mining District. The site cultural resources <br />site form for this area is found in Exhibit 61. The survey was expanded to include the area within <br />the boundary of the Fish Creek Alluvial Valley Floor in sections portions of sections 16 and 17 <br />in TSN, R86W. The survey report along with SHPO's response to the survey are presented in <br />Exhibit 6L, Fish Creek Alluvial Valley Floor Cultural Resource Survey, Sections 16 and 17, TSN, <br />R86W. <br />RULE 2.04.5 -GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF HYDROLOGY AND GEOLOGY <br />(I) Each apalication shall contain a description and maa, areaared in accordance with <br />2.10, of the geology, surface and Around water systems, includine water quality and quantity, of all <br />and arty water which will Flow into or receive discharees of water from the general area.
