D`S pain:
I have reviewed the above application for adcyuacy and have the following
additional questions. You may respond on a point-by-point basis in the order
given below.
Exhibit B - Mininq PZazt
1. Please in di cai:e what is done with topsoil encountered during excavation.
Rule 6.4 requires that topsoil be salvaged to be used in reclamation. Topsoil
stockpile(s) should be stabilized by broadcasting a perennial grass such as
western wheat grass at a~. rate of 10 lbs./acre, pure live seed. Although the
end use of an area may be a lake or pond not requiring salvage in these areas,
work areas or other such surface disturbance not to be submerged should be
given proper attention.
2. [that is the an tic•ipated life of this operation?
3. [that measures gill be taken to ensure that progression of this operation
wi12 not affect the stability of [dommer Ditch?
9. How is this ditch crossed?
5. flow about cons.iderinq moving your processing area to the old gravel
pit to the north of the ditch, thus pnci)it.~tiny a usu for the old pit and
allowing less Land to be disturbed as where now proposed, and possibly allowing
additional gravel extraction (see Exhibit C, N1. below)?
Exhibit C -
1. There appear to be many incongruities betroeen the map subrrtitted in
the application showing former pits, size, and permit boundary, and that as
prepared by Clark/Thomas Engineering. Please provide a new Exhibit C map showing
