sites in close proximity on the water table. This proposed site is within a mile of the Tam
pits.
• There is not mention of the danger of pit capture in case of a hundred year flooding event.
Considering the proximity to the Tam pit a flood could have devastating consequences if
both areas underwent pit capture.
• What will be the effect of this pit on the cottonwoods in the cottonwood floodplain to the
east? (See exhibit J, p. 36) The owner's land abuts National Forest Land which is also in the
cottonwood flood plain. Will these cottonwoods also suffer? There has been widespread
cotton wood death near the Tam pits. What will the loss of cottonwoods do to animal habitat?
to the health of the Dolores River.
In light of all the above problems, 1 oppose the Line Camp gravel pit being granted a permit by
the Mined Land Reclamation Board.
Sincerely,
J..l~
~ ~~
Susan Localio
